Prices
Prices…this is the nodal point..but how much is a holiday in Caribbean on a catamaran all just for you? Not much, very cheap, less than you think… surely less than staying in a two or three stars ordinary guesthouse in Italy. The cruise on sailing boat is not a holiday for rich people…absolutely not.
The rent of a catamaran varies of course according to size and season but on the average it costs between 300 and 400 euros per person per week. To this rate you have to add meals: if you dine at the restaurant, on average it is 30-40 euros per meal..if you dine on the boat (highly recommended…) with 100-150 euros you can eat and drink very well for one week.
You will add 75-100 euros per person for the few fuel that you use (the boat goes almost always under sail) and 50 euros for the customs duties that you will pay in some harbours.
A skipper costs about 150 euros per day, a hostess 100 euros.
In one week you will spend about 1000-1200 euros… at this point book a three stars hotel in Lignano Sabbiadoro (fantastic place, of course… ) or in Borghetto Santo Spirito (enchanting sea.. of course …) , or in Sardinia, French Riviera or Amalfi Coast, the comparison is easy.
It is true… there is the flight ticket that varies between 600 and 1000 euros according to the season… but if you can stay for a couple of weeks (three of four would be perfect!) … you will go through a unique experience in a real earthly paradise.
