Fort Charlotte

The ruins of an ancient fortress represented the background of other unforgettable scenes of the filmography on the adventures of the ancient pirates of the Caribbean: the steep cliff on a sheer drop to the sea was ideal for a successful and realistic setting. Some of the scenes of the film The Pirates of the Caribbean were shot here.

Wallilabou

This marvellous and strategic Caribbean location, characterised by thick and impenetrable vegetation, proved to be ideal for the shooting of some scenes of the film The Pirates of the Caribbean. Two small restaurants face the bay and if you give in the insisting invitations of the “boat boys”, you can penetrate in the inland for about one kilometre and reach a splendid water fall, in an unforgettable fresh oasis.

Constructions and furnishing of the film set can still be seen: a destination that cannot be missed if travelling on sailing boat towards the Grenadines.

Blue Lagoon

The area is not always easy to dock, but the presence of buoys is extremely useful especially if the draught of the boats does not exceed 1.70-1.80 metres. The "passe" to the south can be dangerous if the sea is rough and there is poor visibility. Excellent docking spot for rented sailing catamarans cruising towards the Grenadines.

Young Island

Island located in the southern area of St Vincent, it owes its name to the fact that a Caribbean chief donated it to William Young, in exchange of a horse given to him by the English gentleman, who was the Governor. Today there is a beautiful, exclusive resort and on land, there are many charming bars or restaurants with flowery terraces, from which it is possible to view spectacular panoramas.
The volcanic origin of the island of St. Vincent must be mentioned: even here, there are endless variety of corals, black sponges and tropical fishes of incredible colours. Anchored to the buoy in front of the resort, the tender can go through the two rocks to allow tourists to do snorkelling in all tranquillity, before continuing their vacation on the rented catamaran towards the Grenadines.

St Vincent

Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498 during the day of St. Vincent and dedicated to the Saint, it strongly defended its independence for two centuries, until the proud Caribbean population was defeated by the English first and then by the French. But the history of these populations was tormented in different ways; many African slaves that were able to survive a shipwreck arrived here and during the Nineteenth century, the famous captain Bligh, after his sailors stirred up a revolt, was able to join the locals who learnt how to cultivate the artocarpus, of which he brought the plants for seeding. The territory is still fertile and suitable for the cultivation of bananas and vegetables. Unfortunately in 1902, La Soufrière erupted and caused 2000 victims, followed by a second eruption in 1979; said events slowed down the development of tourism. The territory of the island is also impassable and hard to penetrate, but certainly today, this can constitute an actual attraction. The capital is Kingstown, city of 40,000 inhabitants, with well restructured buildings, stores, and a multicoloured market. In the internal area of the island, there are uncontaminated and luxuriant landscapes, where it is possible to notice rocky patterns (Layou), or the natural park of Buccament Valley characterised by precious varieties of birds, among which the parrot of St Vincent. It is a suggested destination for cruises on rented sailing boats towards the Grenadines.

Endeavour Bay

It is located on the north-western coast of the island and offers a large beach, not far from the Cotton House Resort, the known and exclusive tourist site. Extended mooring is not suggested due to the sea conditions, which are not always good.

Savan Island

This island is also appreciated by who is fond of uncontaminated landscapes and snorkelling. Mooring must be done with caution, due to the currents and winds. The fact that is frequented by local fishermen ensures the presence of some shelters.

Petit Mustique

Mooring is often difficult because the sea conditions are not always favourable, but with a bit of caution it is possible to access a perfect site for snorkelling. The island is scarcely frequented by pleasure boaters and therefore appreciated by who wishes to avoid noise and confusion.

It is outside the usual cruising routes on rented catamarans in the Grenadines.

Sandy Bay

The main characteristic of this bight is its beach with white and very thin sand lapped by crystalline waters.

Lagoon Bay

It is located on the south-western coast of the island, in a scarcely protected area surrounded by the coral reef. Here the sand is white, soft and the sea water is transparent and particular inviting for unforgettable baths. Unfortunately, there are mosquitoes coming from the rear lagoon.
